We all know that the United States has an impact on the rest of the world in various ways — economically, politically, culturally. Sometimes it can be more challenging to see and understand that other nations also have important influence on the United States. Learning about the US war in Vietnam gives us an opportunity to see how a country that was, and is, very different from the United States, has had an impact on how people in the US see and think about this country and themselves.

Think about one or more readings and/or videos assigned for Lesson 3, Week 6 (working with more than one is best!).

Use your knowledge of those sources and your reactions to them to discuss the impact of Vietnam on the United States. You are free to speculate if you are not certain.
