“Art mattered in the Renaissance. People expected painting, sculpture, architecture, and other forms of visual arts to have a meaningful effect on their lives, delighting and enticing them into holding or maintaing certain beliefs and engaging in specific behaviours.” (Paoletti &Radke, 1997) Assess Paoletti and Radke’s idea that art was directly involved in the shaping of Renaissance society.
