As in your first assignment, your client is a small insurance services organization with 200
employees. This organization is moving to a new location and you have been contracted to set up
the network in their new location. The new network needs to support several applications locally,
including email, a file server, and a custom shared application. The custom application uses a
web server front end that both employees and remote partner firms access constantly.
Please evaluate this LAN for reliability, robustness, and capacity in serving the needs of this
client. Can this network reliably support the needed applications as described above? Will the
organization’s users be able to deliver their services with this network without unexpected
downtime? Write a brief report summarizing your analysis. Identify any errors that you detect in
this design, and describe how you would change the design to fix these errors. Document and
diagram any changes you would make that will improve this LAN’s reliability, robustness, and
capacity. If you feel that VLANs or new devices are appropriate, include them in your revisions.
