Your task in this final assignment for the term is to compose a thoughtful 5 paragraph persuasive essayin response to the following themes from the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four:
2) Relationships in the World of Nineteen Eighty-Four
Relationships are a controversial subject in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. Who does Winston meet (however briefly) in the novel? How does he react to them? A thesis statement is needed that discusses the quality of such relationships and why the Party prefers this in society. To prove your statement, your task in this option is to examine 3 relationships or acquaintances that Winston makes throughout the novel and examine these in terms of their positive attributes, as well as how they are lacking in substance, trust, and/or purpose in furthering Winston’s personal quest in the novel.
The total length of the essay should be around 4 pages in length. It will be due January 6, 2011. There will be no exceptions in terms of late work. Please ensure to write a draft or edit your work at LEAST ONCE!!!
