Rapid urbanization as a result of industrialization has seen an increase in consumption rate which consequently led to over production of solid wastes especially around the cities. These wastes if left unattended to would cause a serious disaster among the city dwellers leading to health complications. Increasing production of waste material has become a major concern of the Iran government. Gillan Province alone (one of the provinces of northern Iran) produce two thousand tons of waste materials daily. With this trend, some of the people will not see the next decade since the entire environment is polluted. The only solution to these environmental problems is to initiate a program of recycling waste products. The center of this discussion is to compare and contrast the recycling habits in Iran and Australia.
Because of the general increase in population, many countries are facing challenges dealing with the waste products being deposited on our environment daily. The challenged countries should step up and introduce citizen education on the essence of and safety of ensuring that the recyclable products are reserved to undergo recycling. Iranian government needs to adopt a full mechanization of its system to deal with the waste product efficiently like the Australians. If this is done, the there will be hardly any problem taking care of waste and recycle them.
