The Reconstruction was a posses a of the southern states back to the onion. The Reconstruction was directly followed the civil war. President Lincoln was in office at the time ,he was trying to defeat slavery.But, unfortunately he was assassinated he could do anything else through with his reconstruction plan.However,as soon Lincoln was shot, Andrew Jackson was sore in office the next week .
