People like to think of themselves as fundamentally rational, but this reading demonstrates that all of us (me too!) fall into certain cognitive traps. Did you get tricked by any of these? Has the reading made you reconsider some of your thinking on any of these topics? How can we best defend against these sorts of pitfalls? What does all this say about the decision-making of the public? About the decision making of leaders and other officials? Can we leverage some of these heuristics to get people to do what we want them to do? Should we do that or is it unethical?
