Envision you are babysitting your neighbors` children – 7 years old Kaylee and 18 months old Jaxon. These siblings are not having a good day. Jaxon, running around, accidentally destroyed Kaylee`s setup for a tea party in the dollhouse and she hit him with her sock monkey Stinky. These kids need to learn to be nice to each other. What conditioning strategies (from the learning chapter) should you use given their cognitive, emotional and moral development stages?
In your own post:
• Identify what stages of development are Kaylee and Jaxon in according to the following theorists: Sigmund Freud, Erik Erikson, Jean Piaget, and Lawrence Kohlberg.
• Describe a positive reinforcement strategy and a positive punishment strategy for Jaxon that will teach him to be kind/nice to his sister in this situation.
• Describe a negative reinforcement strategy and a negative punishment strategy for Kaylee that will teach her to be kind/nice to her brother in this situation.
• How can the concept of modeling and vicarious learning be used in this situation?
