The final project provides a way for you to summarize what you’ve learned about the basic topics covered in the course. Compose a paper of at least four single-spaced typed pages answering the questions listed below. You are writing a narrative so please do not simply answer each question individually but blend the answers to each into a narrative. Do not repeat the questions within the paper. If you use any sources (including the textbook) you will need to cite your sources within the narrative and provide a bibliography at the end using APA format. How would you have defined Psychology before taking this class and how do you define it now? Why?

What has surprised you about the Big 4 Ideas in Psychology?

Remember a time when contradictory information challenged one of your views. Did you consider the opposite view and did you change your mind? What is this reconsideration process called?

What is perceptual constancy and what would your life be like without it?

Considering the theories of development and how children learn, what mistakes do you think today’s parents make and why? Define the learning technique that you use most often with your children (or others) and tell why it works.

Choose one of the personality theories and describe how your own personality has developed according to this theory. Will your personality change in the future? Why or why not?

Considering your own motivation, where would you place yourself on Maslow’s hierarchy? How will understanding a person’s motivation help you in analyzing their behavior?

Give an example of social influence that you’ve personally experienced and how did you respond?

Think of a conflict that you’ve witnessed. What strategies did you or would you suggest to help reconcile the conflict?
