Students will apply a scientific approach to a current scientific question dealing with the ocean and climate change by designing an original research study that will acquire knowledge on a topic of their own selection.
Students will share their ideas and critique those of their peers in the required expedition discussions. These discussions will help students focus on potential ideas to develop in more detail, including the rationale and project design, in a 600-800 word-long essay.
Grading of essay will be based on writing quality, critical and creative thinking, and scientific knowledge of the proposed topic.
