Paper details:
Each student must prepare a formal paper on a topic of his or her choice related to any engineering management discipline including quality management, supply chain management, logistics, operations management, project management, negotiation, technology management and other areas. Specific topics must be approved by me in advance. Your paper will be evaluated based on the following criteria: 1. Quality and depth of content including research methodology. (60 points) 2. Organization of the report. (10 points) 3. Overall format, i.e., page numbers, title, table of contents, appropriate labels on figures and tables, etc. (10 points) 4. Correct grammar and evidence of proofing. (10 points) 5. Variety and documentation of references used. Format for citations and references must follow APA guidelines. (10 points) Research Progress Presentation Do your research proposal presentation during week 7 with: 1. Problem Statements 2. Significance of the problems 3. Brief history of previous work in the field 4. Proposed Approaches to solve the problems 5. Expected results The final Report should include the following items but not limited to 1. Title Page 2. Table of Contents 3. Abstract 4. Problem Statements/Introduction 5. Importance and any justification of the problem 6. Detailed problem analysis 7. Any previous approach to solve the problems 8. Your approach/methodology 9. Your progress and achievements 10. Discussion/Further Research 11. Conclusion 12. References (APA format) 13. More than 10 research papers as references Graphs, charts, and figures will most likely improve the overall quality of the research paper. It is also recommended but not fully required to incorporate topics covered during this semester. Those topics include: 1. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) 2. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) 3. Moving Average (Simple Moving Average) 4. Exponential Smoothing, Double Exponential Smoothing for Trend, Triple Exponential Smoothing for Seasonality 5. Regression This paper should include any quantitative and/or qualitative research components. Simple summary of existing papers or essay will not be accepted unless it does have a new perspective. Additionally, all submission should be done through the “SafeAssign” to prevent the plagiarism. All papers with the matching rate with 40% or higher will be considered as a potentially plagiarized paper, which will result in the course failure. Please follow the outline that has been included which will help give direction for compiling the research paper. I have also included some sources that may or may not be included according to the writer’s choice.
