Be sure to read the directions and place the academic honesty statement on your cover page.

This test is an individual effort and appropriate sources do not include classmates. Allowable ones include your texts or the library. Remember Wikipedia is not an appropriate source nor is

any source that cannot be validated such a blogs etc. You are not permitted to discuss this exam with anyone. Be sure to state all published sources clearly so if it is incorrect or questionable, I can check the source. Be sure to be specific in your answers and use the proper terminology to receive credit. Clarity and conciseness in business writing are valuable business assets. You only receive credit for a good point once no matter how many times/ways you state the same point. Be careful to clearly state all assumptions. Your answers will be judged on the strength of your analysis/logic and support for your responses. Be sure to pay attention to the point values of the questions. It is expected that you will do some outside research where appropriate. This case and questions are not limited to one page cases although your submission should not exceed 4 pages double-spaced (if you write well and concisely it does not need to be 4 pages) excluding cover page and reference section. Remember these are 30 points questions so simple answers will not earn you many point. There must be clear thought, analysis and often research.

Read the Case that is attached. This is a root problem case. Follow our case process for completing this mini-case (ie, clearly state the root problem (the constraints if not put in the text in the other sections), the 4 alternatives, and the recommended alternative together with why it is the best alternative in this case and specifics on how to implement it.

We have learned that while technology is neutral it can be used in ways that are helpful or harmful. Read the article from Harvard Business Review September 2011 entitled Learning to Live with Complexity (posted on Blackboard) to help you understand what business complexity is. From what you have learned about IT in this course, describe the role positive and negative that IT has had or can have on increasing or decreasing this complexity. Provide clear examples of both the complexity it adds or decreased.

Specifically identify and explain what the 5 top IT related concepts that you learned during this class are and why they are important. Be sure to clearly justify your choices.

Be sure to answer any and all of the questions found at the end of the case. These should be at the end of your submission (before the reference section) in Q&A format.

Review the attached Rubric for specifics as to how you will be graded.
