You can choose one of the 4 topics listed below for your PowerPoint Project:
* Any aspect of Epigenetics
* Genetics: Is Aging in Our Genes?
* The Human Genome Project and
Implications for the Future
* The Genetics of ALS
Or you can choose your own topic
(Topic must be approved in advance by your Professor)
Be sure you include in the NOTES FIELDS BELOW THE SLIDES what you would say to an audience during an oral presentation of your project. No slide should be without a written notes field. Remember this is an oral presentation, so don’t try to squeeze pages into the notes fields. THE LAST SLIDE(S) IN YOUR PRESENTION SHOULD BE BIBLIOGRAPHY SLIDE(S). MAKE SURE THAT FOCUS OF YOUR PROJECT IS GENETICS AND NOT JUST HUMAN BIOLOGY.
Your bibliography should include the same information you would provide in a written document, such as an essay. You must use in-text citations on the slides themselves or in the notes fields for quotations used, or when you paraphrase ideas that are not your own or when are using an image, chart or graph that you did not create. These sources should also appear on your bibliography slide(s). Be sure to check out the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) for formatting the citations – any style is ok, just be consistent throughout the project. YOUR PRESENTATION SHOULD BE 20 SLIDES LONG, EXCLUDING THE BIBLIOGRAPHY SLIDE(S).
You need to use a minimum of 3 scholarly resources (2 scholarly articles and 1 in depth news report) from the subscription/electronic databases available through the Mercy library.
