For this project, you will choose an age group for you to focus your power point presentation. You may choose the topic which is relevant to the assigned age group – a health related issue, common disease process or other appropriate educational topic related to your profession. Creativity is required. You will create a power point presentation to introduce and provide education on your topic and targeted age group. There must be a minimum of 10 slides, with a maximum of 15. Professional sources must be utilized (this does NOT include Wikipedia, google, ask.com, ect…). The following is a guide of items that must be addressed:
Introduction/ Definition – present your topic and targeted age group; why did you choose this? Explain what is it and who is affected
Causes/associations – identify etiology, risk factor or correlations (if no cause is known)
Developmental concerns – how does this specifically affect developmental issues for this age group you
chose?
Identify a theorist and integrate – his/her theory in this section
Treatments/ maintenance – how is this addressed? What is done? Palliative care?
Specific to your career – identify specific ways you would address this client/situation (as a PTA, OTA, or PN) – keep age group and development issues in mind
Share your personal reflection on this issue if you were treating this client
