Since the beginnings of human history, slavery has existed. Why do you think it is that various groups enslave one another? As most of you know, slavery still exists around the world today and child slavery is a particularly heinous problem as well as teenage prostitution. Do you see any connections between your life and those of the slavery that still exists today? Do you know that slaves, including child slaves, may have made some of the clothing or shoes that you may be wearing today? Think about how past societies have eliminated slavery and how it might be done today to end slavery around the world.
