In at least 850 of your own words, take a position on the novel by considering this question: How well does this novel reflect the current state of our environmental and social problems? How does it reflect the different types of responses, religious and non-religious, to our environmental and social problems? Your position is your thesis statement. From there support your thesis with examples from the novel. Be sure to identify the lack of critical thinking within the various responses to the “cure”.
