– Policy Analysis (4 – 5 pages)
a. Policy background:
o Name and author of the selected policy
o Describe what the policy does
o Is there cost or budget attached to it? If yes, describe?
o What has been the impact of the policy on the issue? Has the policy
achieved its intended goal?
o What has been some of the intended and unintended
consequences?
o Who are the stakeholders? Why?
b. Alternative policies
o Name and describe two Alternatives Policies that address the same
issue.
If the policy you selected for your analysis is a state policy,
then your alternative policies should come from a conservative
state and the other from a progressive state.
If you selected a federal policy, you can choose to describe
how the policy is being implemented in a conservative state or
a progressive state. You can also choose to compare your
federal legislation to similar legislations from two other
countries.
o Comparison of Alternatives:
Compare and contrast the alternative legislation to each other,
and to your selected policy.
