Complete the ProSkills assignment “Create a Project File for a Residential Move” on pages 442 – 444. Make this move to a different state instead of across town so that you need to consider planning time and resources wisely. If you are young and still living at home and have never gone through a move of your own, consult with your parents for the basic information about the tasks and resources involved. Even if you have gone through a move, think about all of the possible tasks involved, how the project should be set up (from start date or from end date) and how the tasks should/should not be linked – do some research. Make the move a current or future move – DO NOT make the move in the past. Give yourself a $5000 budget to work with and have at least one paid work resource in your project.
DO NOT use a template for this project – create one from a blank document and you build it!! Be sure to set the task to automatically schedule before you begin.
The team members mentioned in this project will not be class members – a team can be any number of people working towards the same goal. Think about who would be in your “team” that you would plan the meeting with. Do not confuse this with a group project; it is to be done individually.
In step 13, use a group code for the members of the resource group pool. Do not list all of the resources in the pool.
Check and correct any overallocations again at the end of the project.
Save your file as you work through the project and again in step 24. Name your custom views and tables beginning with your last name. Print all required printouts to files naming them by the step number first such as Step 19 Gantt (minimum of 9 printouts) to be submitted with the final .mpp files (be sure to include the resource pool file from step 13 along with the final move project file from step 24) as well as the Word or PowerPoint file (step 17). Skip step 22.
