Paper format: Planning Strategy – NotesIn developing your planning strategy you need to provide a strategic approach to how you would deliver this major development through the planning system.
As a consultant you are researching and advising Sheffield City Council on how it can be delivered.
You will need to work closely with but not repeat the material covered by your consultation and phasing strategy sections of both assessments
You need to consider
1 Pro-active approaches such as how would you include in the emerging local plan e.g. through area focused policy development? You do not have to write this policy!
2 What planning documents are available to you for example such as Area Action Plans, Supplementary Planning Documents and Master plans?
3 What wider planning approaches may assist this process e.g. Design Review and Design Codes?
4 How would the detailed delivery be dealt with e.g. the pre-application and application stages. ?
5 What advice does the ATLAS website provide and what tools does that suggest you use to facilitate a development of this scale through the system?
6 What structure or roles within the LPA may need defining?
7 What funding opportunities – if any -are there that could assist with the development?

You only have a limited page allocation so you need to be strategic – show your knowledge of the system overall . Focus on the pro-active approaches as opposed to the administrative detail.
