Physics

From t = 0 to t = 4.93 min, a man stands still, and from t = 4.93 min to t = 9.86 min, he walks briskly in a straight line at a constant speed of 2.96 m/s. What are (a) his average velocity vavg and (b) his average acceleration aavg in the time interval 1.00 min to 5.93 min? What are (c) vavg and (d) aavg in the time interval 2.00 min to 6.93 min?

Me and a friend can’t seem to figure out the sections of b and d of acceleration. We first assumed it was 0 because there was no acceleration, then used the info to find the Aavg through the (change of velocity)/(change of time) formula to get 0.6004. Yet the answer was still not accepted on my hw site. It is also very sensitive on the specifity of the answer such: “the tolerance is +/- 1 in the 3rd significant digit”

Please help us out if you can. This was a last minute resort and it’s due soon. Just found this website about five minutes ago. So thanks!! 😀
