1)“An electron always experiences a force in an electric field, but not
always in a magnetic field.” Is this statement true? False? Why
2) A coil of wire has a large alternating current flowing in it. A piece of aluminum or copper placed near the coil becomes warm even if it does not touch the coil. Explain why.
3) Explain why two wires, each with a current flowing in it, exert forces on each other even when they are not touching each other. [in particular, explain whether it is or isn’t possible that the force between the two wires is of purely electrical origin]
4) Explain why a transformer doesn’t work with DC.
