Photography, cinema, video and digital media are relative newcomers to the art scene when compared to their cousins in the plastic arts. Why do you think artists seem compelled to take up each new medium as it becomes available? How do their creations reflect our society back upon us? Do you find video, photography digital mediums are as valid or valuable as art forms as say painting or sculpture? Could any of the examples of art presented in this module be useful in supporting an argument for or against this idea?
