1. Using Aristotle, notes and your own common sense, discuss the both ethical mistakes and ethical virtue of jury in the film “12 angry man”. (two pages)
2. Book III:iii, Explain what Aristotle means when he says that we ethically deliberate about moral values, but we do not deliberate about geometry, mathematics, or facts. How can his distinction help us make epistemological or political judgments? How do people confuse matters of opinion from matters of fact? 1 page
3. In Book “V.iv.8” Aristotle says, “Now the judge restores equality….” Explain the meaning of this, with reference not to geometry, but with reference to the values of social justice in human relationships. Consider how equality, balance, and related Aristotelian values may pertain to corrective and distributive ethics. (1 page)
4. From the point of view of contemporary ethical standards, how does Aristotle’s view of equality start to break down in V.vi., when he makes distinctions between women and men, between husbands and wives, between fathers and children, between masters and slaves? 1 page
