experiencing writer’s block to the extreme. want my statement to stand out and grab the investigators attention. need to sell myself. have worked at the Veterans Medical Center for 14 years on a neurology general medicine floor. Where I have experienced all walks of life, death and struggle. I have been part of leading edge teams on treating Dementia and Alzheimer’s patients. Implemented protocols for quality of care to geriatric patients. My passion and purpose to bring the theories of gerontology to practice. To improve, inspire and empower the field of aging. If I’m able to get this opportunity, I will be a valuable piece in gerontology. I can’t even write. I’m so overwhelmed with writing the best personal statement that I’m now not making sense. I want it to be authentic, pure and refreshing. I live, love and breathe gerontology. Getting into this program is my the door to give, extend and change our practice in treating the older population. I know I sound cheesy, but I’m so passionate about overcoming cultural ageism views. I want to take research into the frontlines of geriatric care. I want to listen and ask older individuals what they need, want and care about. Instead of research speculating what elders want and need. I want to take action. Not just in journals of medicine, but on the ground looking at the places we are all too scared to see. The complexities the aging self. I can’t thank you enough for your help and please let me know if you need anything.
