Personal/ Prompt Communication:

In accordance with your group project, you will conduct a search for literature related to the questions you are assigned to answer. This research will provide you with perspective and information from experts in the field that will add credibility and authority to your report. The literature you gather should include both library sources and internet sources. Determine if the source is a primary or secondary source. Find at least one primary source to include in your collection of literature. (A primary source is the original publication of the author rather than a reference to information by another author.)

Prepare a review of literature to be included in your final paper for the group project. You will submit the literature review to meet this assignment, but you will also include the information appropriately in the final group project. Your literature review will include the following:

1- The primary question(s) or point(s) you are addressing as part of your assignment.

2- At least three sources that contain relevant quotes or content addressing your question(s).

The text of the content or quote you will use from each source

The source information in APA format

3- A paragraph for each of your three sources, demonstrating how this content might be used to present a finding you will include in your final research paper. This paragraph must include both the referenced content (either quoted or paraphrased) with an in-text citation. It will also include your own discussion of the information. When properly presented it will be clearly evident which parts of the paragraph include your own commentary and which of the ideas are quoted or paraphrased.

Please consult the textbook by reviewing pages 219-226. This information includes quotations, citations, and APA format. A sample final document is presented starting on page 227.

Your review will look like the following example: (Of course this only represents one source. You will have at least three.)

Question:

The onboarding process requires careful attention during the very early stages of engagement. My assignment is to document examples of step-by-step elements of the onboarding strategy that might ensure the success of this process with new employees.

Paragraph:

According to the Northwest Territories Supervisor’s Guide used to prepare student workers for their summer employment experience, onboarding is different than orientation. It is a carefully designed strategy to ensure that the student worker’s first impression of the experience encourages the desire for continuation and future employment opportunities. One key aspect of this process is that confidence and assurance are built from the very initial contact. One way this is accomplished is by providing reinforcement at every stage. “Remember that the student is receiving a tremendous amount of information and that is helpful to keep it small segments. Have a discussion after each segment and check to see if the student has any questions before moving forward.” (Northwest Territories, 2015)
