What are your thoughts on what I will call “performance enhanced” music? Is it acceptable for performers to present via recordings performances that they can’t actually do live? Do you think that the price paid for tickets is justified for performers that have a documented track record for lip-syncing or secretly using things like auto-tune (T-Pain doesn’t count)?
NOTE: What we are talking about are musicians who present themselves performing on a recording when in actuality their performance has been meticulously edited to make it seem better than it is. This does not include artists in electronic media such as Square Pusher or Daft Punk who are creating compositions with using computers.
