Parenting Children During Separation and After Divorce
Order Description
Imagine that your married brother, sister, or friend came to you and said that he or she was getting a divorce and wanted help with developing strategies/making plans so that his or her eight-year old daughter and six-year old son would experience the fewest negative effects from the divorce. Describe children’s and parents’ reactions to the changes that accompany separation and divorce. What changes typically occur in the lives of children and their parents during and after separation and divorce? How can separated and divorced parents (and other adults) ease children’s adjustment to life changes and stressors triggered by parental separation and divorce?
What guidelines would you give your relative or friend? Support your response with theory and research findings from at least 2 scholarly peer-reviewed journals.
