Outlining Publius’s argument
Paper instructions:
A: In Federalists 10, Publius explains how factions have historically tended to destroy republics. First, explain what a faction is. Second, Publius outlines different, historical options for the overcoming of factions. You should show why he thinks these solutions are followed. Third, explain Publius’s ultimate solution to the problem of factions in the united states.
B: In Federalists 51, Publius describes how the Constitution will provide for the separation of powers and a system of checks and balance in order to preserve liberty and the guard against a tyrannical national government. Explain what the separation of powers and checks and balance are( giving examples), and why Publius believes they are essential in the protection of liberty. Outline Publius’s argument, rather than just giving you opinion.
