organizational leader
organizational leader who manages diversity effectively (similar to the leaders highlighted in the leadership exercise
found in Part III of the textbook; for example, Kenneth Chenault—Amex; Louis
Gerstner—IBM; and Andrea Jung—Avon). Using approximately three terms/concepts
from the textbook’s “Introduction” or either of the two opening essays, “Diversity in the
Workplace: A Theoretical and Pedagogical Perspective” and/or “Diversity in the
Workplace: A Legal Perspective” students are to analyze the specific leader they have
chosen. In this sense, the textbook material becomes a lens through which you examine
the leadership style, philosophy, and successes/challenges of these leaders in relation to
their quest to manage diversity within their organizations.
The paper will be not less than 3000 words in length (15 pages). It will use a 12
point Times New Roman font with one inch margins. The paper will be double spaced to
allow for Instructor comments or remarks. APA style is required. At least four
academically credible references are required. Newspaper or other non-peer reviewed
sources may be used to provide supplemental or background information; however, these
are not a substitute for peer reviewed resources. Grading Rubrics for the applied paper
and the presentation of the applied paper are located at the end of the course syllabus.
The student’s paper must be accompanied by their signed Certification of Authorship.
