On the signification of walls

Since the muralists relied on walls, let’s take a look at the interesting observations Moore makes in his article. Then, answer the following: Do walls (such an ordinary thing) have value for you? If so, what is that value? If walls have never had any value for you but now they do (having read Moore’s article), what’s that value? Share with the class 1) your experience with walls, 2) what expressions do you know that have to do with walls, 3) how can we put together (relate) Moore’s article with that of Abbott?

Then, see if there’s a wall present in any of the pictures you have taken. If there’s one present, speak of its concrete/symbolical realms (as discussed in the reading). The concrete will be the actual space of the wall (kitchen, living room, etc.); the symbolical will depend on the meaning or significance you see in that picture now. If you do not have any pictures with a wall present, then speak of the walls at home, also considering the concrete/symbolical realms.
