The tourism industry is one of the best ways to develop intercultural communication from one country to the world and in away this brings all cultures in closer to each other. Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, is one of the most significant industries that have been promoting Abu Dhabi as a tourism destination. According Al Getham, S (gulfnews.com, 2013), and data by Dubai Chamber states that the UAE’s tourism district is expected to grow by 6.5 per cent yearly between 2011 and 2021. Therefore, I believe that the travel and tourism industry should discover new ways to attract the tourists of tomorrow to make this possible. With a little research I figured some ways these industries could use to gain tourists. As a frequent traveler, my family and I plan most of our holiday by discovering the new spots, hotels, and restaurants through Instagram, booking.com, tripadvisor.com and many more useful apps, as well as websites. Therefore, I highly think social media should be the main platform for these industries to reach out to their target audience, the tourists. Another idea that I came across while doing my research is to look at your competitor and see what they have that attracts tourists that your industry does not provide and see what you can make to win them over. According to the Travel and Tourism competitiveness report index 2015 ranking, UAE ranks 24th on the list with Spain being the 1st, France the 2nd and Germany the 3rd. Last but not least, all- inclusive packages attract many families and tourists who are on a budget. Hence, Tourism authorities like TCA should work with travel agencies to provide these incentives.
