New health care delivery and financing models
The purpose of the position papers is to allow you, but also require you, to identify topics in the health care economics and policy field that are of interest or relevance to you.
Position papers should be at least 2-3 pages (double spaced, not including references, graphs, tables or supplemental material). The format for the papers is provided below. In preparing your paper, you should identify reference sources that address the topic you are interested. These can be in any language, or any in any media, but must be referenced in your paper.
Format of position papers
Introduction/Statement of Topic – Provide a description of the topic and your interest in the topic. (0.5-1 page)
Data/Results/Findings – Summarize the results from the sources you have identified, using text and (if appropriate), graphs, tables or other supplemental material. (1 – 1.5 pages)
Discussion – What was most interesting to you from your findings? What additional information would you like to have, and/or were unable to find?
Grading:
Position papers (20 points each) will be graded on the following characteristics:
1.) Clarity of topic statement (5 points)
2.) Relevance and validity of findings (5 points)
3.) Insight of discussion (5 points)
4.) Use of graphs, tables and other supplemental material, and citation of references (5 points)
