In my paper I will challenge the nature of the relationship between Prince Hal and Falstaff. Falstaff works as a leaving point for PrinceHal so I will answer questions such as: is Falstaff really acting as a faux father to Hal or is it a different kind of relationship. Who holds all the power in the relationship, and while Prince Hal is growing to power what happens to the relationship that he has with Falstaff. What does Falstaff want from Prince Hal and what does Hal want from Falstaff. Where does Falstaff stand as Hal is growing away from the tavern life. If Falstaff were a father figure to Hal why does their relationship not really work out, as in why would Falstaff follow Hal in growth anyway if he were acting as a father to him. Why are we disappointed in the fact that Hal and Falstaff do not grow together. Ultimately, does Falstaff even see himself as a father to Hal and does Hal see him as a father?
