• Clear organization of reasoning in support of thesis
• Link between introduction and conclusion (you raise the issues and address them).

Critical analysis
• An original descriptive analysis of at least one musical composition
• Knowledge of the historical and cultural context
• Capacity to perceive the musical elements and form that are meaningful in the composition
Writing skills-
• Capacity to express and convey ideas in a clear and articulate way
• Use of relevant and discipline specific vocabulary
• Spelling and grammar
• Accurate bibliography and citations
