Movie Review/race, gender, and identity
In keeping with the themes we will be discussing in the upcoming weeks – race, gender, and identity – I have chosen films that are united by the general subject of Race in America. As you will see, most of the films I have chosen are several years old. I have made this choice because I want you to watch films that you may not have already seen and/or that have not been recently reviewed. (Several of these films may have been made before some of you were born!)
Your assignment here is to chose a film to watch, and then review it according to the guidelines in the two attached documents on reviewing films. Make sure that in your review you describe the historical context and setting of the film. (This will require you to do some additional research about the film.) Also, in your review, be sure you focus on the theme of “Race in America” and explain how the film illustrates that topic. You should post your film reviews to the link in
