Adults who drink wine, beer, spirits, or other alcohol in moderation-no more than two moderate-sized drinks a day live longer than those who never drink (Berger, 2008, p. 538). The major benefit of moderate drinking is a reduction in coronary heart disease (Berger, 2008, p. 538). However, moderate drinking is hard for some individuals.
