Managing Performance and Reward

Word Count –
• Only the main body of your work is included in the word count. The executive summary, list of contents, any tables, list of refs, bibliography and appendices are not included.

• The word count for this submission is 4000 words +/- 10%. (Maximum word count therefore is 4400 words).

• If your submission exceeds the word count, 10 percentage points (10 marks) will be deducted from your overall mark.

• Tutors may request that you submit a hard copy of your work.

• However, UWS policy dictates that all coursework is submitted through Turnitin. A separate Turnitin box will be provided for each Managing Performance and Reward class e.g. Hamilton day, Hamilton evening, Dumfries, Ayr, Coatbridge College etc. Please submit your coursework through the appropriate Turnitin submission link.

• For submissions which are up to 7 days late, 10 percentage points (10 marks) will be deducted

• Please note as per UWS policy if your work is not submitted through Turnitin by the date agreed for submission (or agreed late submission date i.e. up to seven days late as noted above) it will be deemed that you have not submitted your coursework and a ‘0’ mark will be recorded for your work, even if you have submitted a hard copy.

Note:
• Basically what we are expecting students to demonstrate in their coursework is that they understand, and can apply, the module learning outcomes which are outlined in the module descriptor.
• In this module we offer students a toolbox of resources in relation to Managing Performance and Reward.
• What you are challenged with is choosing the correct tools for the specific scenario, i.e. the coursework case study.
• So we do not expect you to present us with a year 1 (level 7) response, which would include the pros and cons (advantages and disadvantages) of everything. Instead you should allude to what may be relevant, and why it would work, or conversely not work, in a specific scenario, and what would be the best option and why. All the time citing sources and contextualising with organisational examples.
• We will discuss these options with you as we progress through the module lectures.

• The undernoted structure is not presented in the best format. It is up to you to determine how to structure this to the best advantage. In addition, all areas of the learning outcomes are not included here. We want you to demonstrate initiative and show us how you would assist the organisation to achieve competitive advantage. Students who think ‘outside the box’ will be awarded accordingly.
