Subject: Management
Aim: The assignment aims to show how communications, knowledge and information can be improved within an organisation including making better use of IT systems. IT is designed to develop the understanding of the interaction between communications, knowledge and information. It also covers how IT systems can be used as a management tool for collecting, storing, disseminating and providing access to knowledge and information.

Instructions: In order to complete this assignment I have to answer all four sections, with each section having its own subsections to be all answered. For each section I am expected to write approx 1,500 words.

Section 1: Demonstrate how you understand how to assess information and knowledge needs

– discuss the range of decisions to be taken
– examine the information and knowledge needed to ensure effective decision taking
– assess internal and external sources of information and understanding
– justify recommendations for improvement

Section 2:Explain how you would create strategies to increase personal networking to widen involvement in the decision making process

– identify stakeholders for a decision-making process
– make contact with those identified and develop business relationships
– involve those identified in the decision making as appropriate
– design strategies for improvement

Section 3: Explain how you would develop communication processes

– report on existing processes of communication in an organisation
– design ways to improve appropriateness
– implement improvements to ensure greater integration of systems of communication in that organisation
– create a personal plan to improve own communication skills

Section 4: Explain how you would improve systems relating to information and knowledge

– report on existing approaches to the collection, formatting, storage and dissemination of information and knowledge
– carry out appropriate changes to improve the collection, formatting, storage and dissemination of information and knowledge
– implement a strategy to improve access to systems of information and knowledge.
