literature and the individual

Prompt: What is the relationship between literature and the individual?

Consider:

How does/has your genre of interest impact/ed you?
Where do you fit in with your genre of interest?
What can literature reveal about an individual? A Society?
What part do you play in others knowledge of your chosen genre?
How do you personally make your genre more interesting to others?
Task:

Using a variety of texts from one genre (your chosen text, plus at least 2 more), create a technology-based presentation that addresses how and why that specific genre resonates with you. Be sure to support your connections with a definition of your chosen genre as well as personal experiences.

Process:

1.  Define your chosen genre and discuss its purpose/why it exists. When did it originate? Who were the primary trailblazers, or those who helped it develop as a genre?

2.  Highlight, not only your independent text as an example of this genre, but pull excerpts from it and multiple other texts (minimum 2) that exemplify the genre and society in which it was written. You could use examples of poetry, short stories, songs, and movie clips that showcase your genre and its influence.

3. Note how this genre is a reflection of the society in which it was created. How is it a sign of the times?

4. Make it personal. How do these texts within this genre impact you? Impact society? What are your personal experiences or new insights because of the text(s)?

How will it look?

In terms of the vehicle for housing your presentation, create something technology-based that will create interest for your audience.

Google sites, wevideo, google maps, book creator, google slides with commentary, etc.
