The topic is language and culture in relation to intercultural communication. This should explain why the topic is important and relevant to intercultural communication.

It should show some scholarly work that has previously been done on the topic and why your essay will provide new insights into the topic.

It should briefly describe how you intend to address the issue (methodology). This can include using a scholars work as a guide for the essay or a perspective from which you want to look at the topic (such as a social scientific perspective, or interpretive perspective or critical perspective).

Body

The body of the essay should develop the main points that you cover. This means that you will need to clearly identify a thesis/main idea for each main point and use supporting material from your research to develop each main point. Supporting material consist of relevant quotations from scholars who have published on the topic, examples to illustrate your points, statistics to show the extent to which the issue is widespread or number of people affected by it, etc.

Conclusion

This should recall the thesis you proposed in the introduction, summarize the main points you discussed in the body and propose some recommendations for future work.
