Matricide occurs in Aeschylus? tragedy Agamemnon (really The Libation Bearers), and in real life in the murder Agrippina by her son Nero, the Emperor of Rome, as documented by the historian Tacitus in his Annals. Discuss the crime of matricide using these two different texts to support a claim of your choice. In comparing the status of woman as mother, the purpose of the matricide, consider that one is mythic or fictional and the other is real.
The essay must include an introduction, at least three body paragraphs and a conclusion. One of the sources to be use must be Aeschylus, The Oresteia translated by Robert Fagles.
