Judicial Review
Project description
The concept of judicial review is what has led to the Supreme Court we know today–a court that has the power to question the decisions of Congress and the President and to serve as the protector of the U.S. Constitution. This power was not clearly laid out in the Constitution. It came about in one of the most significant cases of all time, Marbury v. Madison.
For our discussion this week, review the summary of the case or the full case, if you prefer, and answer the questions below:

2. Explain the significance of this case.
3. Provide your assessment, using at least two external professional sources, of whether judicial review has served as an adequate check on the actions of congress (as an example, consider cases like Citizens United to get started).
