Is there a self?Paper details:
Is it necessary to postulate a self in order to explain human experience? More specifically, what features of human experience seem to point to the existence of a permanent entity other than the body, mind, and senses (or, if you will, the skandhas) that is you? Can you account for these features of our experience in some other way than by bringing in a self? If so, how? If not, why not?
In this paper you must take a firm stand, arguing either in favor of the thesis that there is a self or in favor of the thesis that there isn’t one.
