Informational Interview AssignmentThe purpose of the informational interview is threefold. First, it will give you an opportunity to examine an occupation in depth that is of interest to you. Second, it will give you an opportunity to practice networking, which is an important business skill. Read over the description to get a sense of tasks, knowledge, and skills required for that job.Through your own personal network (i.e., classmates, friends, family) or simply cold calling an organization, interview someone who is employed with that job. The interview needs to be in person (not on the phone or via email) and at least 30 minutes in length.In the interview, ask the interviewee the following 4 questions (i) how he/she got the job, (ii) what aspects that he/she likes about the job, (iii) challenges with the job, (iv) advice to help you with your job choice. Then ask an addition 3-5 questions that are of interest to you.
