Information resource managment
Project description
Case Analysis of a Chief Information Officer (CIO)
This is a comprehensive paper of ideas and topics covered in class. Using either primary (an interview) or secondary (library sources) research, the student will come to better understand Information Resources Management (IRM) and the role of the CIO.
The following steps will be completed:
1.The student will identify a CIO, Deputy CIO, CTO, or other senior level staff to interview or to conduct research.
2.The student will create an interview guide or guiding research questions a list of questions that they plan to ask the c-level person or create a list of research questions.
3.The students interview/research questions should relate to a subset of the IRM primary concepts as found in the syllabus (e.g., policy and organization, roles, leadership, management skills, governance, process and change management, etc.). The student does not need to research all IRM primary concepts and/or ask questions about them. (Time and space will not allow for a full review of all IRM concepts!)
4.The student will want to record the interview or make copious notes during the interview to accurately collect what the c-level executive said. The student may want to transcribe the interview immediately after it is completed as to not loose pertinent facts.
5.The student will take what was discussed in the interview or found in the research and write the final paper (see the final paper guidelines below).
The final paper must:
Be between 10-12 pages,
Be typed, in Times New Roman font, 12 pt, double spaced,
Use 1 margins (Top, Bottom, Left, and Right),
Contain footnotes with references in an academically recognized formatting (e.g., MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.) used in the case analysis (as needed). Interviews should be cited too.
