Week 4:

Background:

CheckLess Corporation is a large software company that makes specialty software for banks related to automatic transactions. It began in 1976 as a small company formed in the founder’s basement. The company has grown greatly over the years and some of the original employees are still working there. The company is based outside of Atlanta, Georgia on a wooded campus. The company was one of the first to create special perks for its employees. The comfortable campus includes residences (for onsite conferences), free breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks throughout the day. It also has free day care and a full gym. It has personalized work spaces and many places for employees to sit and work around the campus (comfortable benches an chairs everywhere). However, the company has recently been purchased by XYZ Incorporated who creates financial software for many different industries. XYZ Incorporated has a different corporate culture and wants to integrate its off-site services (multi-national) within the Atlanta site.

Assignment:

XYZ Incorporated has asked you to consult with them on how they can best integrate the companies. Over the course of the next few weeks, you will be providing a full consultation plan.

A big issue for XYZ Incorporated is combining different workplace cultures and keeping employees motivated. Checkless Corporation was used to having a different style of work than the more traditional style of XYZ Incorporated. Furthermore, XYZ Incorporated uses many overseas employees who they want to integrate into the teams. Thus, there area also cultural considerations.

Describe your plan for keeping up employee motivation and how you will integrate these different corporate cultures. Remember, you are writing this paper as a plan- a course of action. As such, it is imperative that you include an actionable list for the client to quickly view upon receipt of this paper. The actionable list should include all steps that you, as an IO Psychologist, recommend the client organization take in order to facilitate the positive growth their organization seeks. The items on the actionable list should be explained in-depth within the text of your paper. See the attached “Actionable List/Explanation Guidelines” document to help you understand and build actionable items for your actionable list.

Your paper should be at least 3 to 4 pages on your ideas. Make sure you support your ideas with academic literature written about the effeicacy of your proposed programs.
