Self-Evaluation Essay and Portfolio Assignment
Your portfolio should consist of a simple folder (25 cents from walmart) not a binder, trapper keeper, or 3-hole punch. The pages do not need to be in protectors. Each
assignment should be present with its grade sheet, or graded copy. (If you no longer have the graded copy please print a new copy and include it.)
The order of contents:

The Self Evaluation Essay (Commentary Essay) (Read Chapter 9 in the textbook for help)
Write a brief 5 paragraph essay answering the questions: Was my time in 1301 productive? Why?
Intro: Hook: An amusing anecdote from class works well. B4K: The fact that you attended the class. Thesis: Your claim answering the question above. Main Points: 3
reasons why the thesis is true. Transition
Body: 3 paragraps, each explaining one of the main points from the introduction. Please try to be specific and give details to explain.
Conclusion: Recap your Main Points and Thesis. Give me as the instructor a piece of advice that you have. (I am not adverse to constructive criticism. I want to
continue to make my class productive for future students.)
There is no grade sheet for the Self-Evaluation Essay. There is no opportunity for revision after the portfolio is turned in. But you may use one of your Pearson Smart
Thinking sessions for it if you have one remaining.
