Improving Leadership and Stakeholder Support

As an educational leader, you will need to constantly evaluate your own effectiveness as a leader and continually assess the support you have from stakeholders in

your community and under your sphere of influence. Leaders need to continually adapt to change and stay one step ahead of those they lead through careful evaluation,

assessment, and support for trends, improvements, and growth. For educational leaders to be effective, knowing the direction of the school or district is especially

important.

Educational leaders must also continually check their status with their constituents or stakeholders who may include the teachers, the staff, the students, the

board, the administrators, and the community. There is nothing more disheartening than to support a change or idea your stakeholders oppose. For many educational

leaders, this means being approachable, visible, and available to those who they influence and lead.
