The Literature Review and Theoretical Model are the heart of your paper. They are also components that will be a part of your full draft.

In the Literature Review, your goal is to “walk” the reader through other existing arguments attempting to answer or relating to your question. For those of you relying heavily on news sources, you should “walk through” both sides of the news story. You should organise the discussion thematically and discuss your thoughts on their strengths and weaknesses. In doing so, you should start to carve out an argument of your own, which is built upon the existing literature and its weaknesses and omissions. This argument should attempt to answer the question and point to generalizable conclusions. You have to rely on legitimate references that only relevant to the academic sources, books, journals, and scientific articles.
