3. From what you’ve read about self-care skills instruction: In the interest of increasing self-determination skills, should individuals have the right NOT to learn or
practice certain self-care skills? (p. 389-390) Why or why not?
4. Review the backward chaining method (p. 391) to teach a child to drink from a cup. Using similar methodology, what would be 6-8 steps you propose that similarly
instruct a child to draw with a marker on a secured whiteboard.
5.a. Per your text (pp. 393-4), besides “eating skills,” what TWO other skills could be learned during mealtimes by a individual with significant neurological
limitations?
5.c. You’ll read on pp. 399-404 about instructions and supports that assist learning of toileting skills. Offer TWO reasons why those skills are so crucially important
